Green Champions Award Winners

Mrs Manju Mann (One Earth Foundation) presents the Award to Rajneesh

Under the My Village, My Pride Initiative, One Earth Foundation recently acknowledged the independent efforts of 2 of our Green Champions – Rajneesh and Hritik.  The Green Champions Trophy is awarded to children of indigenous or tribal communities  in recognition of their outstanding efforts towards creating a more environmentally friendly community.

Rajneesh, took the initiative to start and nurture an organic garden in his backyard (see image above).  The vegetables and herbs there are all consumed by his family and neighbours.  With the support of his elder brother he has worked tirelessly for the past 1 year to see this garden blossom.

Hritik receives his Green Champions Trophy from Mrs Reeta Shahani (One Earth Foundation) and Mr. Parikshit (a supporter of our Initiatives)

Hritik took on the challenge to take charge of a piece of village land located within the village, clean it of all the garbage that was being dumped there, and start a flower garden on the same.  An immense personal effort and achievement and we commend him for the same.

We take this opportunity to thank Mr. Parikshit, Mrs Reeta Shahani and Mrs Manju Mann who visited our project sites and encouraged the green champions  for their ongoing efforts and activities.
